Saving Wonderland

It was raining again, a hard tapping upon the poorly-crafted glass of the tree house I built. We rebels had our own little society just outside of Hazen in a thick forest area. It was either hide or stay in town and be prosecuted. I heard a couple of boys in the tree house next to mine laughing and enjoying a game of cards together. I couldn't help but smile a little, knowing that they were okay. Yesterday's raid was a total failier. We tried our hardest to gather more supplies, but there were too many of the Red Alice's guards. We were outnumbered, losing eight people, and wounding six more. There was a great number of us. However, there were a greater number of Spade civilians, most of them too scared to join the fight, and rightfully so. I myself was injured. I was trying to help my fellow fighters escape when a Red Guard threw a blade down onto my shoulder. It got me, but one of my men managed to push him before it hit any major part of my body. I won't be doing any more raids any time soon, but that's just fine. This will give me more time to ponder the next move on the attack on The Red Alice. I picked up a black bishop from my chess set. It was poorly widdled, like most wood pieces in the community. I examined it, feeling the individual bumps from where it had been made. I placed it down so that it was diagonal from the light-brown queen piece. "I'm only capable of one move, but you're capable of so many." I said out loud. "There is practically no way to stop you."

I looked up from my chess set and grabbed a small dagger, just in case a guard found us. "Who's there?" I asked.

I was curled up in the canopy of the trees, sleeping, when knocking on a door woke me and my ears pricked up. I kept my eyes closed but listen to the conversation.

The White Alice? I thought. I opened the door. "Get in, quick." I said.

My ears flicked to behind me as I heard a group of guards approaching. One was speaking, "See? The trail leads in this direction..." I flick my tail back and fourth, but don't say anything, just watching. Waiting to see if anyone notices.

"Soldiers!?" I ran to the window and saw them wandering about below. "Dammit!! You lead them here!!" I ran to the wall and knocked on it three times, paused, then knocked twice. The laughter and talking stopped, and the boys shuffled around, covering windows and gathering small weapons. I held up my dagger towards her. "Sit in the corner and don't say a word." I said in a low voice. I blew out all the candles in the house and shuffled into a corner.

The men below stopped directly under the tree houses and hadn't looked up yet. "Split up and find them," the men scattered in all directions and began cutting through foliage and shooting anything that moves.

"Not exactly. See I climbed this tree way long before I lost them," i said a bit nervously biting my lip. "They won't find us!" I said to her. I think. "Look we can always find a way out of here before getting shot. That's if they find us."

"Well, if they do find us, all of my hard work will be gone." I said angerly. "The society I built, the plans that I've made, and my people's hopes of ever seeing peace in Wonderland will disappear like a cheshire cat!"

"Calm down. There's always a way to get a new place. Heart Kingdom is always open to you guys," I suggested to her hoping she'd calm down.

"I can get rid of them." I appeared as floating spots behind Vienna and the rest of my black fur slowly faded in. "For a small price..." I stood on my hind legs and turned into a tall slender human female. My hair was black like my fur and my skin remained spotted in leopard print. My eyes were yellow/green and I still had my sharp canines. I was wearing a black, Goth style dress and my tail hung to my ankles. I flicked my ears forward. "I'm one of the last of my kind, the guards would chase me to the end of the heart kingdom of I let them." I walk forward, right up to Gwen, my face inches from hers. "All I ask is, when the time is right, you will owe me a favor."

I threw a sack of gold to her feet. "Take it." I said. "Just do what you can to get rid of them."

" What I meant was, you will owe me a favor. As in, at a later date, if ever I need something I know I can get from you, you owe me." she was already holding my hand so I shook it before she could think twice, "You have a lot to learn about the Cheshire..." and then I vanished, without a trace(and the gold was gone). Below you hear shouts and a loud leopard cry, a few shots fired, a man then screamed like a little girl and then heavy fire which began to recede. It took about five minutes before you could no longer hear the shouts, then it was dead silent. The only remaining sound was that of rain on the rooftops of the tree houses.

"i guess we are safe," I smiled nervosly to Viena

"We got lucky." I said, parcially to myself. I walked over to the wall and knocked twice, then paused, then three times, and the lights turned back on in the other house. "You need to be more careful." I said, lighting an oil lamp. "Jezebel is on the hunt for you and the Black Alice. If she finds either of you, she wins." I rolled my shoulder and heard a pop, flinching at the pain, then sighed. "Anyway, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in the Heart Kingdom training with the Cheshire Cat?" I asked.

"Yeah about that. I had to rescue Princess Lirona, from Jezebel in her castle," i said as I sat on a chair, "Her pet Sketch told me to save her. She was in the castle of Jezebel and I lead her to a path that no spade would ever go while I made them follow me and then climbed a tree then found you." I swung my feet back and forth a bit
